About the Author
The author of Raggiungere is Cassandra Rochelle Williams. She is a young convert to Islam living in Southern California and working as an attorney.
Education:
She graduated with two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of California, San Diego in 2002 in the areas of Political Science: International Relations and World Religions. She then went on to study law at Pepperdine University where she graduated in 2006 with her Juris Doctor and a Masters in Dispute Resolution. Cassandra has most recently received a Certificate in International Conflict Ananlysis from the United States Institute of Peace in January 2007. She does not claim to be a scholar of Islam, but rather a mere student who most likely benefits more from researching and blogging than all her readers combined.
Community Involvement:
Cassandra enjoys being invovled in many wonderful Muslim communities, including those of Los Angeles, Irvine and San Diego. She also hosts the amazing sisters at UCLA during their weekly halaqa and authors a blog for this group as well (http://www.uclahalaqa.wordpress.com). Cassandra spends most of her leisure time with famly and friends, attending lectures, conferences, political/activist rallies, volunteering, playing sports, and traveling (she most recently visited her best friend, Iman, in the Caribbean at med school!).
Hopes & Dreams:
Cassandra hopes to become a better Muslim through reading others’ blogs, interacting with other amazing Muslims, teaching and learning more about Islam each day. She hopes to one day have a beautiful Muslim family (preferably in Orange County or surrounding areas to take advantage of the masha’Allah amazing Sheikh Sadullah Khan!). Cassandra is very close to her family and friends and prays that her sisters who are only 13 and 10 will one day embrace Islam as well. In the meantime, she will just keep
